Maison Ā — Contemporary Family House in Poitiers

This project involves the creation of a contemporary family house in Poitiers, designed for a couple with two children. Set in a quiet environment, away from the bustle of the city centre, the house offers a preserved living setting while remaining close to the everyday conveniences of the city.

The architecture is based on a deliberately minimal expression, composed of simple, horizontal and refined volumes. The project is distinguished by a large, thin canopy that delicately rests on the built volume. This architectural element extends the roofline, emphasizes the horizontal character of the house and protects the outdoor living spaces, while bringing a strong sense of lightness to the whole.

The main façade opens widely onto the garden and swimming pool through large glass openings. This transparency creates a natural continuity between the interior spaces, the terrace and the landscape. The house thus becomes an open, bright and fluid living environment, designed to support the daily life of a family.

The architectural language remains intentionally restrained: clean lines, white volumes, a flat roof, discreet joinery and carefully controlled details. This simplicity highlights the relationship between the house, the garden and natural light, creating a contemporary, calm and elegant atmosphere.
